Strengthening the Moon

Mantra

The Moon's seed mantra: Om Shram Shrim Shraum Sah Chandraya Namah (recited 108 times on Mondays, ideally during the Moon hora).

Also effective: Om Som Somaya Namah (108 times).

Gemstone

Pearl (Moti) or Moonstone in silver, worn on the little finger or ring finger of the right hand on a Monday during Shukla Paksha (waxing Moon). Minimum 5 to 7 carats for pearl. Always use a natural, untreated pearl. Consult a qualified astrologer.

Charity and Service

  • Donate white rice, milk, white cloth, or silver on Mondays
  • Feed cows or serve women and children
  • Care for the mother or nurture maternal figures

Behavioral Remedies

  • Establish a regular sleep schedule aligned with the lunar cycle
  • Spend time near water (rivers, oceans, lakes)
  • Practice emotional journaling or mindfulness to strengthen the mind
  • Reduce mental agitation through meditation or pranayama

Timing

The Moon changes signs every 2.25 days and completes its cycle in about 27.3 days. Its Mahadasha period in the Vimshottari system is 10 years. Remedies are most important during Moon Mahadasha when the natal Moon's condition fully manifests.

Key takeaway

Pearl in silver, Monday mantras, and nurturing service are the primary Moon remedies - emotional balance is the goal, not just planetary strength.
